Arman Gambaryan (Armenian` Ô±Ö€Õ´Õ¡Õ¶ Õ‚Õ¡Õ´Õ¢Õ¡Ö€ÕµÕ¡Õ¶) is an Armenian mixed martial artist who competes primarily in the light heavyweight division.
Career[edit]
Fighting out of St. Petersburg, Russia, Gambaryan is a member of the Red Devil MMA organization. He has fought with the M-1 global organization for most of his career, and has trained with Fedor Emelianenko. He is primarily a practitioner of Combat Sambo, and in recent years has been active as a sparring partner for Red Devil's fighters training in this style. Over the course of his career, Gambaryan has been particularly feared for his skill with the rear naked choke, a maneuver he has used to claim victories against champion grapplers. Gambaryan is a notable competitor, holding a 19-6-1 MMA record, and has defeated former Russian wrestling standout Murad Chunkaiev, Karl Amoussou, and Cyrille Diabate. He is one of four fighters to hold a victory over rising English prospect John Maguire. He has also faced veteran notables in Keith Jardine, and Chael Sonnen.
