Tara LaRosa Bio

Tara LaRosa (born 1978 in Woodstown, New Jersey) is a female professional mixed martial artist who previously fought in BodogFight.

She was the first and final BodogFight Women's Bantamweight Champion. She later defeated HOOKnSHOOT 125-Pound Champion Cody Welchin in a non-title bout at a HOOKnSHOOT/BodogFight co-sponsored event.

LaRosa holds wins over other top Mixed Martial Arts fighters including of Amanda Buckner and Kelly Kobold. She later signed with the American Fight League.

LaRosa is currently the #2-ranked pound-for-pound female MMA fighter in the world by MMARising.com. She was formerly ranked at the top of the 135-pound division and is currently the #3-ranked 125-pound female fighter in the world according to the Unified Women's MMA Rankings.

Tara has stated that Chuck Norris, Steven Seagal and Jean Claude Van Damme movies were an early inspiration for her to get involved with mixed martial arts.

Mixed martial arts career

LaRosa faced Alisa Cantwell at XFO 4 on December 3, 2004. She won the fight by armbar submission.

She faced Hitomi Akano at MFC: USA vs. Russia 3 on June 3, 2006. She won the fight by unanimous decision.

Personal life

Tara's boyfriend, SFC Adrian M Elizalde was killed on August 23, 2007 when an IED hit his truck in Iraq.
